Who we are
Born and raised in Monroe, and here to stay.
Monroe Community Media (formerly MPACT) is a nonprofit public access center serving the City of Monroe and Monroe Charter Township.
We believe in the power of local media and direct community access to programming. Through MCM, regular people (like you!) – of all ages and backgrounds – can create and contribute to television, radio, and podcast programming.

What is public access?
Community Television
We operate a local public access channel available on Xfinity and Charter Spectrum, featuring noncommercial programming produced by and for Monroe County residents.
Media Training & Production
We offer hands-on training and professional production facilities for community members who want to create their own programs, podcasts, videos, and digital content.
Public Information & Civic Access
We support transparency and civic engagement by providing a space for educational content, government programming, and community announcements.
Community Bulletin Board
Local nonprofits, schools, and public institutions can share upcoming events and announcements at no cost through our on-air bulletin board.
Why We Exist
Community media centers exist to ensure local voices have access to media, not just corporations or commercial broadcasters. We are partially funded through cable franchise fees paid by providers for use of public rights-of-way—support that allows us to serve the public interest.
Monroe Community Media is an independent nonprofit organization. We are not owned or controlled by cable companies or local government, and the content shared on our channels reflects the voices of the community itself.
